Festival of Licensing 2020 Recap

The Brainbase Team had a tremendous time joining the licensing community in celebrating the industry we all love at the Festival of Licensing! We met and reconnected with hundreds of licensing professionals from a myriad of exciting brands and listened in on industry leaders as they shared their knowledge and perspectives on the future of licensing. Throughout our festival experience, we’ve noted a few highlights that made this event one to remember. Read ahead to find out more.

Matchmaking In A Virtual Space

As we experience more virtual events and summits in 2020, we are learning to adapt to the changes of transitioning to online matchmaking. Throughout Festival of Licensing, we were given the opportunity to meet new licensing professionals within the space and schedule various demos all from our computer. Our experience with Festival of Licensing’s matchmaking service was top-notch, and we were able to use the platform throughout all of October to familiarize ourselves with emerging brands, new trends and learn what industry professionals are currently looking for in the technology space.

The Future of Licensing Has Gone Digital

Live keynotes and on-demand sessions were our favorite aspect of Festival of Licensing. We’re always searching for upcoming trends and forecasts within the licensing industry to address future challenges and create solutions at Brainbase, and we were able to take in all of the knowledge from industry leaders without missing a beat. 


One of our favorite on-demand sessions called Licensing and Brand Purpose explored licensing case studies that taught us ways we can enhance our brand purpose through collaboration. We also tuned in to several live sessions such as The Future of Brand Licensing. This talk between Group President, Lifestyle and Chief Brand Officer of Authentic Brands Group, Jarrod Weber and Content and Event Director of License Global, Amanda Cioletti gave us additional insight into how the digital space can be used as an opportunity to reach new audiences in years to come.

Overall, Festival of Licensing was a success for exhibitors and attendees, and we walked away with deeper insights that will inform how we do business going into 2021. Kudos to Global Licensing Group, who did an excellent job of utilizing virtual tools and programs to make this event a success, and The Brainbase Team is grateful to have been a part of it. We’re excited to attend upcoming events and next year’s licensing shows, where (fingers crossed!) we can meet everyone in person.
